Course Overview
Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) became statutory from September 2020. This training provides an opportunity for Secondary teachers and PSHE leads to gain skills, competence and confidence to deliver a positive and pro-active, safeguarding curriculum aligned with latest guidance. It aims to increase teacher confidence in delivering RSE for Secondary school children, to understand statutory requirements and to offer practical classroom ideas for active learning. It will increase understanding of the importance of RSE, explore ways to ensure that the classroom environment and lessons are inclusive and self-esteem, empathy and respect are nurtured drawing on research and guidance. Ultimately, this will increase resilience and inclusion of pupils, with the aim of supporting children to lead healthy lives, have meaningful relationships and make informed choices.
