Accessibility Statement
Liverpool Learning Partnership strives to make its services accessible and usable for all users. Our website has features that allow its users to find and consume the information they need in the way they find easiest. This website has been built to comply with the World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and has the following features:
General
The Liverpool Whole School Approach Directory is built using HTML5 and CSS 3. This creates a fast-loading website that is accessible to screen readers and is usable in most browsers, including older browsers and browsers available on non-Windows systems.

The Liverpool Whole School Approach Directory has a built-in suite of accessibility features including:

Accessibility Features:
- Enable skip to content
- Add outline focus for focusable elements
- Remove the target attribute from links
- Add landmark roles to all links
- Customizer for style adjustment
Text
All text is in the document, legible and readable with good size and contrast, and appears even if JavaScript is disabled.
Text in images is avoided where possible but is always available in the ALT tags.
We use Plain English as much as possible.
Should you need to, most browsers enable you to change the text size; you can also utilise our accessibility menu to change the text size.
Images and Design
All images have ALT tags. Where appropriate, ALT tags provide screen reader users and those with images turned off with a description of the content of the picture.
Alternative to Video
Unfortunately, Liverpool Learning Partnership does not have the resources at present to provide transcripts and audio descriptions for video content however we utilise YouTube where possible in order to take advantage of automatic closed captions.
Browser Upgrades
We have made our website compatible with all modern browsers. However, if you are using an older browser, our pages may not be presented in the best possible way. It may help you to download a newer version of a browser.

PDFs
Some of our PDFs do not comply with WCAG 2.1, which may make them difficult for some of our users to access. For example:
- They currently do not use the correct heading structure, which makes it difficult for screen reader users to navigate the document. This fails WCAG success criterion 1.3.1 (Info & Relationships)
- There are no bookmarks in the PDFs, which makes it difficult for screen reader users to discern the structure of the document. This fails WCAG success criterion 2.4.5 (Multiple Ways)
- Some PDFs are missing document titles, which can make it difficult for screen reader users to quickly discern the contents of the document. This fails WCAG success criterion 2.4.2 (Headings and labels)
Any new PDFs or Word documents produced by Liverpool Learning Partnership will meet accessibility standards. We cannot guarantee PDFs produced by external agencies and partners will adhere to the same standards.
Our Commitment
Whilst Liverpool Learning Partnership strives to adhere to the accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability, it is not always possible to do so in all areas of the website. We will be continually working to improve the accessibility and usability of the website, but if you have any suggestions or are experiencing any difficulties downloading files or accessing a particular page, please contact us.
