All Schools – Mental Health Awareness Week
Mental Health Awareness Week 2024 will take place from 13 to 19 May, on the theme of “Movement: Moving more for our mental health”.
Movement is important for our mental health. But so many of us struggle to move enough – including our staff. Perhaps you could organise a wellbeing walk, step challenge, a pupil versus staff sports event or even promote an earlier finish to allow staff to access their own leisure activities.
Thursday 16th May is Wear Green Day for mental health. You can download a free pack here:

Please tag us in your activities throughout the week. @llppartnership @livcamhsfyi #MomentsForMovement
Primary Schools – Mental Health Awareness Week Dance Challenge
As the 2024 Mental Health Awareness Week theme is Movement, we thought we would re-share the fantastic dance performed by Whitefield primary school during our Children’s Mental Health Week Livestream. It would be fantastic to see other schools learning and performing their dance to get moving for mental health – inside, outside, at school or at home. Please share your dances on social media and don’t forget to tag us: @llppartnership @livcamhsfyi #MomentsForMovement
You can download a copy of the dance video here:

Secondary Schools – REACT Programme Train the Trainer Course
As part of the new Wave 11 MHST, Merseyside Youth Association will be delivering a train the trainer version of their REACT group interventions for anxiety, body-image and low mood. This training will give school mental health leads & pastoral staff the resources to deliver these group interventions in your school. Places are fully funded.
The REACT series features three themes:
- Anxiety
- Body Image
- Low Mood
The MYA RAISE Team developed REACT programmes to support young people in schools with their mental health and emotional well-being. REACT programmes follow a train-the-trainer model. Professionals are trained to deliver the programme in their setting, making it more sustainable and easier to manage.
