Detailed Information

Mind and Mood is a group intervention focused on worry and low mood. The group will be delivered in school for one hour a week across 5 sessions. Mind and Mood is underpinned by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approaches and will explore your child’s thoughts, feelings, behaviours and physical symptoms around anxiety.  Each session focuses on one aspect of wellbeing and provides knowledge and supportive coping skills for your child to manage their worry or help to increase their mood.  Topics include learning about the fight, flight and freeze response, how to sort and separate worries, and the links between thoughts, feelings and behaviours. We also teach strategies to manage worry, including using a worry diary, worry time and problem-solving.

Expectation – Young people will be expected to practise skills at home each week with the help of their families and discuss progress in sessions
